Reason
On the 09 July 2026 at 14:25 a wildfire was reported to have affected Almeria province in Andalusia, Spain. Several inhabited areas have been evacuated and 11 fatalities have been reported. Extensive forested areas, numerous municipalities, and dispersed settlements have created a high-risk Urban-Forest scenario for the population. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping was requested to provide initial rough estimation, wildfire extent and damage assessment emergency mapping.
