Reason
In the early hours of 22 July, at around 5 am local time, a wildfire broke out in the town of Castropodame, and at around 7 am a second fire broke out in the town of Murias de Ponjos, both in the Province of León. The two fires were still burning at the time, each burning more than 500 hectares. Several roads and towns were affected by the flames and smoke. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping was requested to provide wildfire extent mapping and damage assessment emergency mapping.
