A wildfire broke out in the Achaia Regional Unit (Western Greece Region), approximately 20 km east-northeast of Patras, on 31 July 2026 at 17:06 local time. Fueled by strong winds, the fire spread rapidly across the affected area. As a precautionary measure, residents of Aravonitsa, Sinania, Agioi Theodoroi and Lidoriki were evacuated following the issuance of a 112 emergency cell broadcast alert. Firefighting operations involved significant ground and aerial resources, including 74 firefighters operating 32 vehicles, supported by 7 helicopters and 7 fixed-wing aircraft.
